• Professional Development

  • Pearl Public School District is a member of the East Mississippi Center for Educational Development in Meridian, MS.  This consortium offers a variety of professional development sessions, most of which are no cost or low cost to members.  Please take a minute to browse the available sessions to see if any meet your needs.



    The Mississippi Department of Education offers free professional development opportunities through its Menu of Services and Online Course Catalog.  View offerings by visiting the MDE professional development page by  visiting MDE PD or contact the district office to schedule professional learning.

  • Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for participating in building-level professional development sessions are available through Hinds Community College.  A total of 5.0 CEU can be earned for completion of all three components of the district's professional development plan: 

    • Before School Professional Development Sessions
    • Professional Learning Community meetings

    To be eligible for CEUs, staff members must complete the following steps:

    1. Fill out a "Special Activities Registration" card (i.e., a blue form) and submit it to your principal.
    2. Sign in at each professional development session.
    3. Attend all required professional development sessions.
    4. Submit a check in the amount of $25 made payable to Hinds Community College by the April deadline.
