Pirate Perks Program
What is the Pirate Perks Program?
The Pirate Perks Program is a Pearl Public School District/Local Businesses Partnership that provides incentives to help recruit the best educators in the region and to retain our existing educators. This partnership also benefits businesses by increasing their customer base and profit volume. The district’s approximately 575 employees are encouraged to do business with the retainers/service providers that are partners with the school district.
The Pirate Perks Program will allow the district the opportunity to offer programs, products and services to our employees that are not offered to the general public or any other group. (Possible products include cars, athletic facilities, cleaners, entertainment, homes, banks, restaurants/local eateries, gymnastics, retail centers, utilities, flower shops, financial services, physicians, stationary, laundry services, etc.)
How do I become a Pirate Perks Partner?
To become a Pirate Perks Partner, a business must submit, on the Pirate Perks Form, a discount or service that is above and beyond what is offered to the general public on a regular basis. Individual representatives and home-based businesses are not eligible for the program. Upon review by the school district’s Perks Program Committee, the business will be contacted regarding their enrollment in the program.
How long does the partnership last?
The agreement will continue indefinitely for future years, until the business contacts the Pearl Public School District to make changes or to cancel. PPSD will contact all participants at the end of each school year to confirm continued participation.
How does a business know if a person is a current Pearl Public School District employee?
Every employee of the Pearl Public School District is issued an ID badge with the current school year. The badges should be available to confirm employment.
How will employees know which businesses are participating?
Participating businesses will be listed on the district website www.pearlk12.com, printed on a list to be handed out to all employees, and featured throughout the school year on social media.
