We are delighted to announce the selection of Dr. Tamekia Stewart as the Principal of Pearl Lower Elementary, beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year. Dr. Stewart will assume this role, succeeding Dr. Laurin Bailey, who will be moving into the role of assistant superintendent.

 

Dr. Stewart brings nearly 17 years of experience as an educator. She has dedicated her service to the students of the Pearl Public School District, beginning as an assistant teacher at Pearl Junior High School before serving as a classroom teacher for ten years. For the past seven years, she has served as an assistant principal at Pearl Lower Elementary.

 

"I am excited and honored to be named Principal of Pearl Lower Elementary,” said Stewart. “I look forward to leading our team by maintaining our positive school culture, continuing our trajectory of academic excellence, and building solid educational foundations for each of our students. I am committed to ensuring that my actions and decisions reflect the commitment and love I have for our teachers, students, and school.”
