Emily Cooper - Special Services Director

Emily Cooper serves as the Special Services Director. Mrs. Cooper coordinates staff and programs  for students with disabilities in the district. Mrs. Cooper  ensures that the Pearl Public School District stays informed of current practices and policies by reading relevant, current materials, attending meetings and conferences, participating in professional organizations, and collaborating with area special education directors. Mrs. Cooper has 13 years of teaching experience in various special education classroom settings, 13 years of experience as a psychometrist, and she has served two years as the special education director for the Pearl Public School District. 

 

Cindy Bland - Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant

Cindy Bland handles the purchase and dissemination of materials ordered by special services staff,  manages communication, maintains office supplies/equipment, maintains financial records, and coordinates other office tasks to maintain organization of the office and keep data current. 

Heather Dunn - Gifted Coordinator and Preschool Coordinator

Heather Dunn coordinates programs for gifted education and preschool programs(ages 3-5). Mrs. Dunn manages child find for gifted education and preschool programs and works with area agencies to transition preschool students.

Jennifer Boykin - Case Manager and TST Coordinator

Jennifer Boykin manages and maintains student records, oversees alternate assessments, coordinates the Teacher Support Teams for the district, and coordinates SEAS, the district IEP development program.

Lydia Duke - School Psychologist

Lydia Duke manages major behavioral issues for students with disabilities and conducts assessments on students referred from each school. Mrs. Duke obtains current information on assessment and behavioral practices by attending conferences, participating in professional organizations, reading, and collaborating with other professionals. 

Amye Henry - Transition Coordinator

Amye Henry coordinates transition for students with disabilities.  Ms. Henry assists with post-school paperwork, post-secondary outcomes, Mississippi Occupational Diploma Portfolios, and serves as a liason for the community and schools in the district.

Sandra Butler - Tutorial Teacher

Sandra Butler serves students requiring hombound instruction, assists in the elementary behavior class, and assists in information management for the special services office.
