MS Educator Code of Ethics

In the January of 2011, the Mississippi State Board of Education passed the Mississippi Educator Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct (SBE policy 1717). This set of principles clearly outlines professional conduct, describing and giving examples of ethical and unethical behavior. Each employee was given a copy of the Mississippi Educator Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct with his/her contract. Furthermore, professional development sessions were held, during which time adminsitrators and teachers reviewed each standard and watched a video presentation by the Mississippi Department of Education. It is the belief of the district that all employees adhere to the code of conduct. For more information, see the links below: |
