YOLANDA KYLES STRICKLAND SERVICE AWARD United Baptist Church in Pearl is offering a $500 scholarship. Applicants must provide the following: 1) transcript, showing a GPA of at least a 3.0, 2) completeted application, 3) two letters of reference, 4) a 30 word written essay, discussing the importance of cummunity service, 5) college acceptance letter, and 6) activities chart, which is included in the application packet.

SPRING LAKE GARDEN CLUB SCHOLARSHIP Spring Lake Garden Club will award a $500 scholarship to one student. RAY ROGERS PRESSBOX SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is funded by the Pearl Touchdown Club and is a one time non-renewable scholarship paid to the college or university for a student who is a graduating senior football player, cheerleader or dance team member at Pearl High School in the year of the award.
The recipient must be accepted by a college or university.
The recipient must be of good character and commendable GPA.
The recipient must have a financial need.
The Executive Committee of the Pearl Touchdown Club, Mr. Ray Rogers and those appointed to serve on the Scholarship Committee will select the recipient.

Pearl High School Parent/Teacher Organization Scholarship This scholarship is designed to offer financial assistance in the amount of $500.00 to one deserving Pearl High School student about to embark on his/her freshman year in a college, university, or community college. Pearl Kiwanis Club Scholarship These scholarships are for Pearl High School graduates planning to attend a vocational, community college, or university. Eligibility requirements: 1) Member of the 2013 graduation class of Pearl High School, 2) A citizen of the United States, and 3) Submit an official transcript of grades/class rank/test scores for ACT and/or SAT. Basis of eligibility: 1) Demonstrated good citizenship, honesty, community service, and sound moral character, 2) Achieved high academic performance; 3) Scored on standardized tests indicating high educational aptitude. FOUR (4) copies of the completed and signed application, essay, letters of reference, and an official transcript of your grades and test scores must be received no later than Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 by 2:00 P.M. The Greater Jackson Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation Boyd Burrow Academic Scholarship Program This scholarship program is for students with a keen interest in game conservation and preservation of the hunting heritage. The awards are time $1,000 scholarships to individuals graduating from Jackson area high schools. Candidates are required to fill out an application, write an essay regarding their personal involvement in game conservation, provide academic transcripts, a personal photograph, a copy of a current hunting license and information concerning the college or university that they are planning on attending. Regions Bank Riding Forward Scholarships Regions Bank is offering high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors an opportunity to both celebrate the contributions of African Americans, past and present, and earn money to attend college through the 2013 Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Essay Contest. Regions will award scholarships to ONE high school senior and ONE college student from EACH of the 16 states with Regions Bank branches. The selection is based on a competitive essay contest. CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI OLE MISS ALUMNI CLUB SCHOLARSHIP The Central Mississippi Ole Miss Alumni Club will award $1,000 scholarships to eligible selected students. Last year they awarded 15 of these scholarships. Scholarships are awarded to eligible students based solely upon merit and without regard to gender, race, color, and creed. Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarship The amount of this scholarship varies depending on the need of the student. The award amount ranges from $500 to $5,000 per year. The award may be renewed each year for a maximum of four years or eight semesters. Delta State University Academic Scholarships Delta State University is now awarding academic scholarships to first time entering freshmen, paying approximately 30 percent of tuition starting at an 18 on the ACT with a 3.0 grade point average. Students with a 25 and a 2.50 or higher GPA are eligible for awards between 50 percent and 100 percent of tuition and fees.

TEC (Telephone Electronics Corporation) D.L. Fail Memorial Scholarship Two scholarships totaling $5,000 will be awarded to two high school students (18 years old or younger) in the telephone company's service area. The Bay Springs service area customers are defined as those persons who have an active account and can be serviced by TEC. This includes customers who have any or all of the following services provided by TEC: TECellular, High Speed Internet, TEC TV, TEC Security, phone, cable, and long distance. The winning submission will receive $3,000 and 2nd place will receive $2,000. Both scholarships can be used to pay tuition and related expenses at any college or university of the student's choice. National Federation of Independent Business Young Entrepreneur Award The NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards program was established to raise awareness among the nation's youth of the critical role that private enterprise and entrepreneurship play in the building of America. Since 2003, the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation has awarded 2,095 scholarships to graduating high school seniors totaling $2,382,000. 2013 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards This program provides an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of volunteerism by recognizing students who have distinguished themselves through volunteer work. Students who have taken part in community service activities over the past year are urged to fill out an online application form at http://spirit.prudential.com or http://www.nassp.org/spirit. Once the form has been completed, it must be submitted to a school counselor or principal by November 6th, 2012. Horatio Alger Association Scholarship Program Since 1984, the Horatio Alger Association has awarded nearly $100 million in college schoalrships to deserving students. The 2013 scholarship programs will provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perserverance in overcoming personal adversity.
